Katie Melua, nacida en 1984 en Georgia (exrepública de la URSS), emigró con sus padres a Irlanda del Norte a los nueve años.
Desde el lanzamiento en 2004 de su primer disco, "Call Off The Search", la cantante y compositora ha sido la artista femenina con más discos vendidos en Reino Unido y en 2006 se convirtió en la artista británica con más ventas en todo el mundo.
