Uriah Heep es una banda de rock británica surgida a finales de los años sesenta, pionera del género «Heavy metal», aunque destacó por la heterogeneidad de su música, a caballo entre el Hard Rock, el estilo progresivo y la épica.
En el año 1970, entraría a formar parte de la banda Ken Hensley, que se convertiría con el paso del tiempo en la verdadera alma y compositor principal de casi todas las canciones del grupo en su época dorada. Se ocuparía de los teclados y en ocasiones de la slide guitar. También puso la voz a uno de los mayores éxitos por aquel entonces, “Lady in black”, del disco “Salisbury”, el cual incluye también el tema “The Park”.
